Fashion Friday (12/16/22)

Happy Friday, friends!

I’m getting back into the swing of working mom life over here, and with two babies and winter weather (somewhat) approaching us, the morning routine is stretching out a little more than anticipated.

Or maybe I just under-anticipated my kids’ ability to derail my carefully planned routine.

Sweet summer child was I.

Anyway, I’m on the hunt for layers for my little babe that aren’t ridiculously inconvenient, meaning I’m not putting on and removing jackets for multiple babes on a 10 minute car ride.

Let me clarify – I completely understand why jackets are unsafe in carseats, and I fully support removing them. But mama ain’t got time for that, so I’m shopping around for some alternatives.

This isn’t strictly fashion, y’all, but that doesn’t mean we can’t chat about it on a Friday.

And it definitely doesn’t mean we can’t still be cute with it.

This right here is my go-to because it doubles as a nursing cover. I found these when EV was a little babe and they were life changing.

It does work to trap warm air in for the hike from the car to the door, but it’s made of light cotton jersey so it’s not the warmest option, and let me tell you. When it DOES get chilly here in coastal south Texas, it gets bitterly cold. Humidity and cold together are like that couple that argues in front of everyone, making everyone around them miserable and awkward.

This is a little thicker (minky lined) but I’m honestly not sure it would do the job any better than a milk snob, so it’s a… maybe?

I’ve seen a ton of people rave about these, and although it’s tough to say how much use we’d get out of it, I actually really like the idea for our little guy.

What about y’all? Anyone living where it’s regularly cold, with actual experience using a product that works for you and your little?

Have a great weekend, friends!
