Fashion Friday (7/22/22)

Happy Friday! The weekend couldn’t get here quickly enough, y’all. It’s been a week and I’m looking forward to at least one day of sleeping past 4:30AM.

I mean, it probably won’t happen, but it’s nice to dream about possibly, maybe sleeping in tomorrow and luxuriating in being home after the sun is up.

It’s the little things that make my heart happy, y’all.

Today’s fashion musings have nothing to do with exhaustion, though, so let’s get to the good stuff. Today I’m talking about problem areas. I’ve talked a lot about camouflaging the dreaded mommy tummy and smoothing out the hips and creating an hourglass silhouette, but if you’re like me, you probably have an area that you less-than-love that has nothing to do with the typical problem areas.

For me, it’s my upper arms. Objectively, they’re not terrible. I just hate exposing them. Sleeveless looks are pretty much a no-go for me except at the beach. And even then it’s iffy.

But it’s also a billion degrees. And I don’t hate them enough to swelter all summer, so where does that leave me?

Shopping, obviously. That leaves me shopping.

This flutter sleeve top from Shein is giving me all the summer vibes. I love that it works with these distressed jeans as well as it would with a pencil skirt or cropped pants. Or skinnies. Or anything, really, because it’s cute.

Ok, that’s it. I’ve sold me. INTO THE CART WITH YOU.

Something about this loosely tucked, oversized shirt and high waisted jeans combo absolutely calls my name. Ignore the fact that weight loss does very little for my permanent mom pouch, y’all. I’m feeling the vibe here and it’s calling my name.

Could this be any simpler? I love a good summery skirt and t-shirt combo since tank tops aren’t my thing (remember, the whole upper arm issue?). This is a classic look for me and one that I will wear whether or not it’s in style.

I’m just a rebel like that.

Have a wonderful weekend, friends!
