Hey, Monday. Could you stop sneaking up on me?!?
I feel like I completely missed out on any sort of weekend because I worked a longer week than normal. My body’s all ‘hey, girl, we need an extra day before we jump into the pool again’ but my schedule’s all ‘WE CAN DO THIS’.
So we’re doing it.
Today I’m feeling like it’s time to start the hunt for the perfect self tanner. I grew up in the heyday of tanning beds, y’all. I’m old enough to have carried a digital camera in my purse at all times to capture that perfect shade of orange we were all glowing with back in the day, so I have the pictures to prove it, too.
I’m also old enough to know that practice isn’t sustainable for healthy skin throughout my life. I lost a precious cousin to melanoma and fully recognize the risks associated with regular tanning, both outdoor and indoor. But I ask you – what’s an olive-toned girl to do when she gets so pale that she looks yellow?
It’s me, I’m that girl. I can tan all day long, but I absolutely do not ‘pale’ well. I look sallow and sick. And that’s not a rhetorical question, either. I promise, I don’t have a long and well-researched blog post where I share the golden ticket to, well, golden skin.
Your girl needs some real help, y’all.
I took to the internets to see if there was a conclusive winner for ease of application + natural, even color, but honestly, it seems like you have to sacrifice one for the other.
If you’re like me and a total newbie with self-tanner, here are a few of the links I found online, but be forewarned, none of them helped me make a decision.

What do y’all think? Anyone out there a self-tanning pro and want to give a girl a solid recommendation?
I’ll love you forever.
Have a great week, friends!
