Ok, so, I’m probably the least likely person in the world to make a big deal about my birthday, right?
I mean, I’m glad about it, but I’m not going to post my Cashapp and Venmo on Facebook and solicit ‘birthday love’ or anything crazy.
I am JUST dramatic enough to plan birthday outfits for several possible scenarios, and honest enough to talk about it here, too. It’s my birthday month, y’all, and I’m here for the shopping. So let’s do some of that, ok?
Can you even get stronger summer vibes than what this dress is throwing out? White is quintessential summer, and strictly necessary when you’re living in the land of eternal blaze, AKA south Texas.
I think this would be perfect for a casual birthday event. Dinner with friends, backyard BBQ – I mean, basically any scenario where I can eat without multiple pieces of silverware.
Please note the presence of food in all of those scenarios.
I’d throw on my boots for a night out in this, but any other time I’m more likely to wear sandals.
Still. Casual, cute, and breezy. I. Am. So. DOWN.
Ok, so this one is a wild card. Mama’s not big on showing midriff, because let’s be honest – this tummy isn’t going anywhere without surgery.
But I read the reviews for this dress, and they range from slender gals to plus size gals, and they all look amazing. I love that this top covers all the bra areas so I can totally harness the girls. And there’s flexibility here – you can show a tiny sliver of midriff or a whole bunch of skin, if that’s your thing.
It’s all in how you hike it, darlin’.
Anyway, if I were having a glam night out or fancier birthday bash, I might go out on a limb and try something like this, in all my mama tummy glory.
I’m getting too old to care what other people think about my style, anyway.
Ok, so hear me out.
A birthday photoshoot, but for a middle aged mom.
It’s a thing, in case you didn’t know, and the internets are full of gorgeous ladies absolutely rocking their age in celebratory moments like this one.
I am HERE for it.
If I were to do this, I would envision something dramatic with sequins, because, well, drama.
Can you just picture it? This sparkly dress and all the sass I can muster?
And maybe some cupcakes and balloons, too, because let’s be honest – the best thing about birthdays as a mama has to be the sweets that we get to pick, because the good Lord knows that husbands who are really good at birthdaying their wives are FEW AND FAR BETWEEN.
Gotta love ‘em, but most husbands make terrible party planners.
But for this dress + a really decadent cupcake, I’d totally look past that.
And that’s it for today’s fashion roundup. Have a marvelous weekend, friends!
