Fashion Friday (3/4/22)

Hey, y’all! It’s FRIYAY, and that means it’s time to shop, right?

I mean, at my house, that also means it’s a laundry day, but the shopping is more fun.

My sweet baby girl is turning 4 soon, y’all. I literally can’t do anything about it, so I just keep shaking my head and saying ‘it happened so fast’, exactly like I remember the old-timers doing when I was little.

I didn’t have the faintest clue why this was such a sticking point for them back then, but MAN. I get it now.

Which could mean that I’m far more enlightened than before, but probably really just means that it’s ME that is the old-timer now.

SO. I’m theming EV’s birthday celebration on the word ‘Un-FOUR-gettable’, but honestly, I’m way behind the curve here. Normally by this point, I’d have mapped out a menu, complete with preparation timeline and shopping list, and have sourced and created all the decorations I need.

But here’s the problem.

I’ve got too many ideas for this one.

The first thought here is glitzy midcentury glam, because how can you not hear the word ‘unforgettable’ and think of Nat King Cole? I’m thinking lots of tinsel and silver/black/white, and a dress like this for her:

Literally in my head right now I’m envisioning centerpieces with vintage microphones, a little performance stage, and sparkles and sequins everywhere.

But then I also love the idea of a tie-dye party, with color stations and bright, fun decorations, and obviously this shirt:

Because this child is obsessed with making things. She’s a crafter like her mama, y’all. She dreams in DIY kits.

Another idea was to go with a nature/adventure theme. She loves, loves, loves exploring outside and learning about all manner of critters and creepers, much to her squeamish mama’s dismay. I absolutely love these little butterfly wings:

and I can totally envision outdoor activities and nature explorer décor.

Y’all see why this is a problem?

Your girl needs help.

Which option would you choose?

Have a great weekend!
